Born on January 5, 1986, this Indian model and film actress is one among the most popular Indian celeb today in the country. She played badminton along with her dad Prakash Padukone and even participated in national level championships in her teenage days. Later on she became a fashionable model and started receiving film roles. Deepika made her first debut in 2006 Kannada film ‘Aishwarya’. Deepika is someone who is not just a great actor but an amazing dancer and gives her best in every film.
In 2007, she won a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut in ‘Om Shanti Om’ which became a blockbuster movie. In this venture the newcomer played confident dual roles opposite badshah of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan. She gained lot of praises for her outstanding performances in Love Aaj Kal and Lafangey Parindey films. Soon Deepika had a turning point in her career in 2012, when ‘Cocktail’ movie hit the box-office.
Deepika didn’t stop there, but received another film which was directed by Abbas-Mustan in ‘Race 2’ as Alina. Further she was established as the finest actress of Hindi cinema and started getting primary roles. Now the average looking girl completely transformed herself into a style icon. The leggy lass began her career and were caught with bad makeup, average hairstyle, and shabby outfits.
Deepika’s transformation started taking off gradually and came in to limelight in ‘Housefull’ Sajid Khan’s comedy film in 2010. Within no time she started playing various genre of character and in the same year she portrayed a sensitive character of Kalpana Dutta. This was Ashutosh Gowariker’s film ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’ in whichDeepika’s performance was highly appreciated. Deepika also played the role of a blind girl in ‘Lafangey Parindey’ – Yash Raj Films along with her co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh.
She began to perform a hot and seductive cameo in ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ which was an item song. Deepika was beginning to rise above her films and her performances. Each and every time, Deepika connected with the audiences and always followed her heart. Further Deepika signed a film with the south superstar – Rajnikanth which was her next blockbuster ‘Kochadaiyaan’.
‘Chennai Express’ was Deepika’s second film with Shah Rukh Khan and in this film she overshadowed the performance of superstar and received lot of appraisals for her performance. Deepika is a risk taker and did a movie along with her co-star Arjun Kapoor ‘Finding Fanny’.
